Media access to the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in London is anticipated to be in high demand. Due to space restrictions there are a limited number of places for media available. UCI has worked in collaboration with the local organiser to develop a media offering that allows as many members of the media as possible to work at the event, making best use of the space available to provide the best conditions under which members of the media can do their work.

Photographers

– Only photographers with a red bib will work in the track centre and have access to the track

– Photographers with a yellow bib will be based in the press room on the ground floor and will have access to the spectator concourse and to a defined number of designated photographers’ spots on the concourse (gallery); the track centre will be accessible during the medal ceremonies; a system of temporary and regulated access to the track centre, which will be explained in a later communication, will be provided by the UCI in collaboration with the organiser.

– As for all UCI World Championships, bib allocation will be taken care by the UCI in coordination with the organiser.

Written press

– Journalists will be divided between the media tribunes in the spectator stands and the press room on the ground floor

– Journalists based in the tribunes will have permanent access to the track centre

– Journalists based in the press room will have access to the track centre during the medal ceremonies and on a temporary basis according to a system set up by the UCI in collaboration with the organiser

– A mixed zone for all journalists will be set up close to the victory podium

– A list of national teams’ press officers will be distributed to all journalists on site; in order to respect the areas reserved for teams, we would ask journalists wishing to interview riders outside the times of the medal ceremonies to contact the communications person of the relevant team and to favour the mixed zone for interviews.

As the deadline for on-line accreditation requests is Monday February 8th 2016, midnight CET we encourage journalists and photographers to register as soon as possible.
